A field of racehorses driving for the line in low evening light

Racing, photographed to last.

Horse racing across Britain and Ireland, made for the people who love the horses long after the result is in.

I photograph the sport from the rail and the gallops, not the press box. The light before the crowds, the second a race is decided, the quiet in the winner’s enclosure.

The result is a photograph an owner wants on the wall, a trainer recognises as a true morning, and a fan remembers the day by.

The line is one frame

A race turns in less than a second. I shoot to keep the one frame that holds it, the stride that won, the look between horse and rider that the replay never quite shows.

Who I shoot for

For owners

Portraits of your horse in the parade ring, at the gallops and after the line, edited for the wall and ready to print large.

For trainers

Yard and gallops mornings shot as they happen, building a record of the string across a season.

For raceday

Coverage of the meetings that matter to you, with fast turnaround on the frames you want to keep.

“He caught our filly the morning she worked best. It is the photograph we point to now when anyone asks about her.”
